The University of Banja Luka (UNIBL) is a relatively young (founded on November 7, 1975) but a vibrant public university located in Banja Luka, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina with around 15000 students enrolled in all three study-cycles.

UNIBL gathers 17 faculties and an Institute of Genetic Resources and is the leading higher education institution in the Republic of Srpska, and the second largest one in the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The mission of the University is to educate internationally competent human resources in all scientific disciplines, capable of responding to the demands of the modern regional economy in a professional and high quality manner.

Key strategic orientations of the University is to: (a) be recognizable by scientific and research excellence, (b) utilize the best practices in teaching process, (c) maintain dynamic international cooperation, (d) nourish entrepreneurial culture and is a reliable partner to the business sector, and (e) ensure self-sustainable financing.

The University has strong international cooperation in education and research projects, holds HR Excellence in Research logo and is a host to the EURAXESS Bridgehead Organisation.
