We’re delighted to announce that our esteemed partners from the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts have released their second scientific paper titled “The Role of Higher Education Attributes in Students’ Brain Drain Intentions: The Case of a Western Balkan Country.”

Abstract: “Building on the Social-Cognitive Theory, the study argues that students’ personal and social expectations, and the higher education services’ quality and resources, shape brain drain responses. The results of the survey with 1150 students reveal insightful connections between personal, environmental, and behavioral aspects for mitigating brain drain trends. The implications specify explicit obstacles in developing higher education quality, emphasizing the importance of tailoring university services to students’ needs in terms of better understanding the higher education system’s potential. The findings contribute to monitoring the brain drain process through higher education attributes and point out practices for facilitating the system’s competitiveness.”

This research delves into crucial aspects of brain drain intentions among students, highlighting the significance of higher education attributes in shaping migration trends. It offers valuable insights for policymakers and educational institutions in addressing brain drain challenges and enhancing the competitiveness of higher education systems.
